Places you have to go

Lake Tekapo

He is a bang turquoise lake and is one of the most beautiful on earth. The water looks as unnaturally blue as from the paint box and then the blackdrop with the probably snowsnowy mountains behind you.

Poor Knights Island

Poor Knights Island is a diving and snorkeling paradise: I have never seen such a strong blue. Here there are dark underwater caves with many small niches, in which countless fish frolicking. Some do not exist anywhere else in New Zealand. Bottlenose dolphins are also on the Island.

Sand dunes at Wharariki Beach

This bizarre, rugged beach on the North Cape of the South Island is so fascinating, powerful and beautiful that it can hardly be described. Come best when the sun goes down to walk over the endless sand dunes. Or ride on horseback along the coast. If you come all the way to Cape Farewell, you may also see some seals and offspring.

What is New Zealand mostly associated with? Correct! With the film series Lord of the Rings. Here, all the movies were shot and if you make a trip to New Zealand yourself, you should have visited the filming locations in any case.
